My name is Tahlie Durran, I have always had a deep passion for creativity and love working with my hands. I adore color & design & I thoroughly enjoy putting my creativeness to canvas or timber panels to produce interesting colorful abstract artwork. I work with acrylic paint combined with several other mediums to produce one-of-a-kind unique fluid art design pieces. More recently I have enjoyed creating hand painted abstracts and floral, botanical artwork.

Painting for me has been wonderful, it takes me away, time for me, to express myself, to create & explore…. It’s very therapeutic. I have created custom pieces for clients wanting something special, something to compliment their home with specific colors & size of art to best suit the room intended. It’s very rewarding having people so excited with their new art & lovely receiving compliments for the art I have created. I also really enjoy having free range producing colorful pieces for purchase or occasionally even something for my own home!

Where it all began…. After studying Art & Graphic Design at secondary school, I simply loved painting & was accepted into an Art & Design course after completing my VCE. I however had a last minute change of plan & took a different path…. Still working with my hands & creativity, I accepted a hairdressing apprenticeship which I loved & my hairdressing career continued for 16 years right up until the long awaited birth of my son. Totally over the moon to finally be parents after years of fertility treatments, surgery & then IVF, we were knocked for six when Levi was diagnosed shortly after birth with a rare illness. For the next 18 months I practically became his at home nurse as well as learning to be a new mother, it was an extremely difficult time & I had neither time or energy for anything aside from caring for him during his first 2 years. After Levi finally was a little more independent I had more energy to feel like excerise again & with the support from my husband (a personal trainer) I built up & started running more & then training for my first 10km fun run. Shortly after being convinced to try 14kms then somehow I ended up competing in 3 half marathons! Something I never ever thought I could do! After I had achieved all of this, I soon realised when put your mind & heart to something, absolutely anything is possible! After moving into a new house which had a couple less windows & a few more bare walls, that’s when I finally took up my love of painting again…I was so excited to have found the opportunity to start up again, it had been quite a few years but once I was painting it was like time hadn’t passed & all of a sudden I had so many ideas which was really exciting!! This house also has an extra bedroom which I could convert into a little studio so it had worked out perfectly, I then knew this was meant to be & decided to take this passion of mine & share it!
